Anyway trust a tranny shop in the Portland area to do a C5 A6 Level 10 PTS Upgrade?

Oh and one more very applicable stat I forgot to mention...
Of the three RS6 owners I've talked to, 2 had the transmissions replaced under CPO before the 100K mark...
Guess I could look for one that already had the tranny replaced?? That's not a bad angle actually...

There was a 35k mile RS 6 in perfect condition for $32k on Autotrader last month
you aren't looking hard enough. There's one on there now that has 100k and it's selling for $20k. I'm not sure where you're getting your info, but it's not correct.
Check out my list of cars in my sig. Trust me, I know what you're talking about. I have ridiculously high-maint cars, I do all my own work, and have learned a lot from a few people in this community. The only stuff I outsource is machine work.
By the way, modding your A6 will never pay you back a dime. Learning how to work on cars is one thing, but if you think adding those parts to your car is going to make you money on it, you're wrong.

One of my good friends is selling his (original owner) '03 with 35K miles for $30K.. He would probably let it go for high 20's...

It's admittedly been a while since I searched (seems like about a year ago)
Looks like the prices have dropped substantially...
I stand corrected, although it's tougher to slide a new car purchase past the wife compared to a turbo upgrade :-)

I'd recommend chatting with Ty at IPT Tranny in NJ...we haven't had good luck with L10.
IPT Performance Transmissions; Ty
1105 Route 23 South
Wayne, NJ 07470
(866) 828-7267
www.importperformancetrans.com
ty@ipttrans.com
Two clients who purchased from L10 and whose TC/VB's we installed both weren't built correctly...too high a stall is the thought(we could watch the TC lock up, unlock, lock up, unlock, basically creating a surge effect). One TC may have been leaking as well.
Sam who was the Audi guy at L10 he left and started his own tranny shop in NJ; Sam's Tranny.
I would HIGHLY recommend replacing the TC and VB's when the engine is out for stg3- or stg3.
Let us know if we can help at all. We've done a bunch of all of the above.
