Anyway trust a tranny shop in the Portland area to do a C5 A6 Level 10 PTS Upgrade?
It doesn't necessarily have to be experience with a C5-A6 tip PTS upgrade, but any experience with Audi's and/or Level 10 hardware would be a must.
I'm considering going Stage 3 on my '02 A6, and would want to do the L-10 PTS upgrades to the Tip either shortly before or after the Stage 3 upgrade (depending on time and budget).
Does anyone know a shop in the Portland area with Audi Tip experience who could do the PTS upgrades?
Thanks,
- Jeff

Fair enough on the TC upgrade, but what about the value body and clutches?
From previous performance auto-tranny upgrades (on domestics) the clutch and VB upgrades were just as important as the TC upgrades for longevity under high-horsepower conditions.

Skip... My A6 is a known quantity...
Besides, C5-RS6's are still holding their value, and I'm not willing to pay the delta between the $15K street value of my car, and the $50K for an RS6.
Don't worry, I've thought about it may times, and the math just doesn't work out.

We'll see... Buying cars is an expensive hobby. Learning about them while you do the work yourself
is a hobby that comes with it's costs, but may very well pay itself back many times over in the long run

I know, it's corny, but a very applicable quote when it comes to autos.
If I planned on having someone do all the work to my car, I'd totally agree with you, but I plan (and already have) done plenty of work myself.
FYI - check the prices on some of the OEM RS6 parts and hourly estimates when things start to go ****-up on your 100K mileage RS6 (because that's what you're looking at for mileage on a $30K RS6). Everything related to the power-train in that car is ridiculous expensive, and they have a significantly higher occurrence of repairs compared to my '02. As soon as your dealer sees "RS6", they stamp "ATM" on the top of your customer file. Don't get me wrong, I love the RS6, but it's an ex-pen-sive car to maintain after the CPO expires (or so I've heard). There's very little support in the community for RS6 DIY'er as well, so you're left to your own devices if you want to fix things yourself.
I agree with you 100% if I wasn't in this to learn about my A6. I would have gotten rid of the A6 a long time ago if I relied on my local dealers $125/hr shop rate for repairs.
