I've seen alot of these algorithims for sale, but again can't tell what's legit and what's BS

I know basic C++, and have written a few practice programs in MQL for a MetaTrader EA, but am hung up on what alorithim to use. I guess it's going to be a lot of trial and error in back-testing.
