This second meeting point that, unless you are blind cannot miss, will have a parking lot right on 17N, which will make it very easy to get back on 17N to get to Seven Lakes Drive. The people from Central Jersey should arrive there no later than 12:30PM. We will regroup here, meet up with everyone else, and leave this parking lot around 1:00PM for the Seven Lakes Drive. Again, if you don't want to get lost trying to find us, GET THERE BY 1:00PM.

~~~ SOME OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS ~~~
If we were to go straight through Seven Lakes Drive it would be done in 15 - 20 minutes. However, for those who have not been up there, along Seven Lakes Drive, there are a bunch of traffic circles, where you can take serveral different routes.
We will all stay together for about the first part of the drive. However, there is a parking lot in the somewhere in middle of Seven Lakes Drive (TBA), where we will regroup and split off into smaller groups. We'll call this parking lot "home base" or "The G Spot."
Let's be honest here, trying to keep 40 or so cars together will just be mayhem / pandamonium, not only for us but for hikers, bikers, etc.
After splitting up into smaller groups, you then have the option to go where ever the F you want. The park is huge and has awesome roads that would just be too difficult to enjoy with too many cars. You could continue up Seven Lakes Drive, find a traffic circle, go another route, take some pics at another lot, yada yada yada.
After 45 mins - 1 hour after splitting up, we should all regroup again at "The G Spot" (home base), to talk about any nice roads someone else may have missed, find a place to eat, or to see if anyone wants to head out so people could go home in groups.
I'm trying to find maps of the park to either print out or post up, so everyone has a visual of how the park looks.
Also, if you have talk-abouts / walkie talkies, bring them and set them to the 7-17 channel.
Keep an eye out for updates, but so far this looks like a definite plan.
How does this all sound?
Default Finalizing the details for the March 20th drive ~~~
Looks great. Good job putting it together. Do you know offhand which exit I would take off of 87 (coming from NYC) to get to the Route 17 meeting place? Thanks.
Default Good question, last time my wife kept saying: "Just show me you love me!"
Translation: "SLOW THE F*CK DOWN!!!"
This was on the last cliff's drive, she had a good time, but I could tell that it was not her cup o tea........I had a grin for days.
Default by the way, i think one of the rules for the drive (think everyone should read this)
or guidelines should follow what a "responsible" bikers do. there was an article written called "the pace".
to put it simply, on straight stretches, keep the speed down...go at a normal pace...in the corners is where the excitement comes into play...and that's where the speed comes in.
keep the straights out to enjoy the scenery, allow ppl to catch up, and also to avoid any potential cops, i mean, most cops will be situated in a straight road off to the side....in curves however, there's less cops= more fun overall.
it's not a kiljoy, rather it's to minimize any potential legal problems, but allows you to enjoy the ride all the same...
...
of course i'm not trying to be a kiljoy/your daddy, but at the same time, it's worked out nicely when i go riding with my bike bud's...
and the last thing i'm trying to do is get a ticket=)
do what you want...but if you see a silver TT ahead on a straight road doing pretty much the limit, then you'll know why.
