Serious WTF?!?! moment.
So I'm on my way back from lunch earlier today and I decide I need to stop at 7-11 to grab a soda and some candy to chomp on for the rest of the boring afternoon at work. I frequent this 7-11 on a regular basis, as it's close to my work. It also turns out that the guy who owns this 7-11 also just bought the 7-11 in my home town so I see him often, and he's always very friendly and outgoing to, not only me, but all his customers. For sake of my story, I should mention that he is of an Indian background. His employees, on the other hand, who are all also of Indian background, leave a lot to be desired. Always laughing and having conversations in Indian while at the counter and in front of customers, which is a huge pet peeve of mine because it always gives the impression that they're talking about you and it's uncomfortable.
So anyway, I go in and grab my soda and a pack of gummy bears, pay, and go get in my car. While I'm sitting in my car I decide to chomp on a few gummy bears and while I'm doing that I pick up my iPhone and check my email since I'm expecting an important email. So as anyone with an iPhone knows, if you're in the proximity of a wireless network, as soon as you try to check your email or visit a web page, a pop-up box will show the name of the wireless network, whether it needs a password, and ask if you'd like to try to connect. So as I'm doing it, the box pops up and asks me if I'd like to connect to a network that was in range. The name of the network (ready for this one): DeathToAmerica. So I'm sitting there like "what the **** is this ****? Who names their wireless network deathtoamerica??!!!" I look around, and the only thing around is, yup you guessed it, the 7-11. There's an apartment building close by, but it's at least 300 feet away from me, and there's no way the iPhone's wi-fi antenna can reach that far. Not to mention, it was showing the signal strength as good, which had to mean that I'm close to the signal, which would mean it was coming from the 7-11.
Needless to say, I will not be patronizing that place, or the other one that I go to, ever again. But I almost felt a need to stand there and show it to other people. I was pissed off! I just got in my and went back to work, disgusted.
So what do you do? Do you tell people? Say something to the guy? Tonight on my way home I'm going to go park in front of the other 7-11 that's in my town and check for a signal there, just out of curiosity. I just couldn't believe that someone would do that in this day and age, especially a business owner. I really hope it was coming from somewhere else, but honestly, I really don't see how that could be possible.

Next time you see the owner, ask if they have wireless... its quite easy to log onto the router and
change the router name. It could have been some punk kids doing it to get a kick out of it.

That would **** me off as well...
I'd confront the ownwer about it. Perhaps his employees did it behind his back, and he should know that if that crap happened to anyone else, he may be dealing with someone (or some organization) a lot less understanding.
