Hmmm.. don't really know.. I just collect my $500 a month leasing fee for my medallion and call it a
day...I dont really get into what goes on in NYC cabs. No meters for the medallion I lease here on Long Island, but I dont think the meter should have been restarted, I think NYC cabs have Flat rates to the airports, not sure if they still do....

Its a flat rate from JFK to any point in Manhattan
I think 45 plus tolls or something. At Newark airport you get your fare at the taxi stand in advance, its pre-printed on a ticket for you based on destination zipcode by the guy managing the taxi stand. All you add is toll and tip and you're done.
