Hoping to get some advice. My clutch on my 2000 Audi A4 1.8 quattro is slipping so I got some quotes from my mechanic in brooklyn and nj and a few from places I do not know. Labor is looking $500-800. When the mechanic quotes labor and parts, I am looking at $1200-$1600 total.

I just replaced the water pump and timing belt and got 4 new tires in the past 6 months so I feel like I am too far in it to sell.

What do you suggest? I get the parts online? Which brand? Should I upgrade the clutch? Is $1200 parts plus labor about right?

Any suggestions appreciated. Also any mechanic suggestions appreciated. I am willing to travel NJ, CT, NY to get this done at a reasonable price.

Its alot a work actually, mostly just time consuming at most. I recently just did the clutch on my 01 a4 1.8 quattro. When I got my clutch and flywheel I got a clutch kit online and oem flywheel.

Woops my bad I actually used this clutch and flywheel, I was thinking of my other car.
