Default Beware DM Motors

Someone I know has an older mercedes and the car needed a new catalytic convertor. He brought it to DM Motors and it cost him $700. However after he picked up the car he found a receipt in the car. DM had brought the car to a different shop to get it fixed, and the receipt was for $130. Talk about mark-up! When he brought this to DM's attention they refunded him the entire amount.

Default Catalysts can be a rip-off

Beware of cheap after-market catalytic convertors. This is really a case of "you get what you pay for". Cheap cats have very low platinum levels, which of course is the expensive part. They only work for a limited time.

It sounds like this is what happened to your friend. No way an OEM quality cat can be had for $130.

Yes. Dieter sold it and only comes in once in a while to help out. He is much missed.
