Default San Jose sucks more the San Francisco, even Oakland. 8-)

Bad roads cost some Bay drivers up to $700 in car maintenance

TRIP, a non-profit transportation research organization, found that San Jose motorists have the worst drive: 66 percent of the South Bay city's freeways and roads are in poor condition. Close behind were Los Angeles, at 65 percent, and San Francisco and Oakland, at 58 percent.

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/10/02/BAG1OLGQ3612.DTL</a

Default I know my street (3rd) must have been the worst in the freakin US for years.

The construction for the light rail vehicle took forever. It was brutal on the suspension.

They are scoring the road in preparation for putting down that nasty lumpy coarse noisy black stuff.

Default oh gawd...here's my list on my daily commute

grand spanking new North section of 87: if you're going ~80 you may catch air. Very uneven in general. You would think a new freeway would be as smooth as could be.

new South section of 87: could it be any more bumpy?

corner of delmas + w san carlos in downtown: if you take the right lane ~10 mph across the intersection you WILL HIT THE front FRAME of your car! Worst I've *ever* seen a road w/o a hole in it. ugh...left lane has sewer cap which has ~2 inches exposed with downward slope...potential for ripping something off the underbody of your car.

going north on almaden expressway: looks like the road is going to come apart at points.

various holes everywhere in the streets.

what's nice? actual downtown thanks to the races .
