Default Engine Coolant Protector (Audi A6 2.7t)

Has anyone heard anything about having to replace an engine cooling or coolant protector/sensor (or something to that effect) Dealership says that is why my MIL light is coming on?

Default Starting problems?

Believe it or not, a bad coolant temp sensor can cause starting problems when the engine is hot. ECU can't get the mixture right.

Anyway - pretty easy to replace, but it was a biatch to get at on my A6 2.8, maybe easier on yours.
