Is there any part of the central valley that's good?
IMHO, from Lodi to Bakersfield is all one big... uh... not so good area.
It's flat, hot, dusty, dirty, in the middle of no where...

Sorry, but it sucks there IMHO
It's hotter than hell in summer and feels like hell froze over in the winter.

lodi is good i live in stockton in the nicer area...
If there is such a thing but, thankfully I still have my place back in the south bay. Modesto and Manteca aren't great but not to bad at least not as bad as stockton IMHO but i think its Modesto which is nicer i all ways mix the two up.

we have a 'second' house in the matisse (or something like that) development on the morada/stockton border.
