In Reply to: True :) How did it do against the Ultralyte? I have had my LPP about 2 yrs too posted by absoluteis on 2008-07-06 09:15:57

knowing that I was shooting a car with a laser jammer...I could get a read 80% of the time at a range under 500 feet by hitting the side view mirrow.......20% while hitting very outer headlight without setting off LPP....now, that is not a real world scenario. Most 5-0 will aim for center of mass from 1500-2000 feet, giving a very wide beam width and an easy set off.

You will be very well protected with your jammers behind the grill for most if not all encounters. Take that very short distance encounter and a wise 5-0 that aims for your outer headlight. However, from speaking with a few oficers I know, most aim center of mass then license plate then headlight, literally spraying the entire car.

I probably drive a little faster on the interstate than I would if I did not have laser protection, so I would not mind testing it from time to time. The reason most officers like radar detectors?? people drive faster with them, and end up getting more tickets. THe majority of detectors out there are junk. that and with instant on you are dead in the water every single time....

Go mouse and happy A$$ on the lidar forums will also rent you a gun if you are interested...
