They basically expanded themselves close to bankruptcy.......too many stores..

KK expanded at the very peak of the low carb craze. And their coffee sucked. It was a perfect storm of bad business timing.

Default LOL, when i saw that open I couldn't believe it.
The only business they got were people watching the donut making process..

Paying for that space would take A LOT of donuts to break even.

How long was that location open? 9 months?

Default too many stores..too few doughnut eaters
They didn't need more than like 2 in grater Boston.

How many doughnuts did you buy last year?

The coffee sucked, so you didn't need a Krispy Kreme on every corner. You might travel there to ge a few dozen for a meeting or something the twice a year you bought a bunch of doughnuts. Even then, it's too easy to go to the 40 DUnkins you'd pass on your way there.
Bad business model, poorly executed in the wrong place.
