Haha- thanks Jeff. To clear things up for everyone here that does not have a sense of humor
BMW makes a great car, especially in terms of handling. I have no doubt that any BMW could out perform its competitors on the track, but a track event gives someone about 70 miles of track driving per day (@NHMS) so if that's very important a BMW is a great choice.
For the 1000 or so miles I drive a month when I'm not on a track I'll suffer with my non ultimate driving machine that makes me happy. Not that I'm very experienced, but what percentage of bmw drivers actually bring their cars to the track? probably a much higher number than that of Audi drivers, but whats the point for public roads.

Then whys it have...
regular 3-series side view mirrors and side mouldings, its a a 328ci with m-technic package to make it look like an M3. I use to own a 97 estoril blue e36 M3, i can spot them from a mile away

on the contrary - luxury package e36 m3s had normal seats, not vaders, and
that is the M3 sidemolding ... the difference between the m-package and actual m3s is that the badge in the side molding says M3 on M3s, and only says M on m package
it is possible he switched mirrors to normal 3 series b/c his mirrors kept getting stolen (kind of like a b5 s4 switching to 2 piece halogen lights)
