...and I got screwed I knew that it was too good to be true to get this thing for $50, and I was right.

For my surprise everything was still in the original box, and nothing was missing except the mounting brackets, for which I don't care too much anyway. I don't know if the actual system works, but right off the bat I discovered that the docking station for the DMS cartridge doesn't work.

This is the VW version of the system so I need to buy the Audi cable to make it work with my car, but before I sink any more money into this I want to make sure that the rest of it works... Does anybody here have a Phatnoise interface cable for Audi laying around that I can borrow? And I know that this is one in a million chance, but is anybody selling a cradle (docking station) for this stupid thing?

I have a few complete systems around. You can borrow a cable if you want.

This used to happen to me when I docked on Windows Vista. It worked well with XP but I had to kill a certain system process(which I can't remember) for Vista to detect the cartridge. I always thought the docking station was dead until I played with the USB drivers.

since you have a few systems around are you willing to sell one of the cradles?

I think Phatty is a great system, so I bought a few systems here and there. I paid around $125 to $150 for the systems. I have one in the car and a couple of spares downstairs. I might be persuaded to sell a complete system, but I really don't want to break them up.

No problem helping with testing to get yours up and running though.

If you want to try one of my cables or try one of our extra USB cradles, let me know. I'm in RI, but work in Fall River and could meet somewhere in-between.
