Hi all,

We have a 2007 A4 2.0T with just over 70000 miles. The dealership is telling us it needs a timing belt, a purge valve and telling us none is covered by the extended warranty. I'd like to have the car checked out by an independent mechanic for a second opinion while we decide if we are keeping the vehicle. I'd also be interested in what other parts typically need to be replaced before 150K miles. Any and all input welcome.

They will be honest, and will usually give a reasonable price and expectations on other maitenance. Don't let the Porsche scare you, they have taken well care of me as I do not goto the stealership.
