Default This may be my good bye to the forums.....

Im headed down to the Chevy dealership in Concord, NH tonight at 6 to see what my car is worth. The high payments and fuel consumption of the S4 has become a little too much in this economy, along with the ski competition expenses for this season. I might come back with the S4 or I might come back with a new Chevy Silverado 1500. Which ever one I come back with doesnt really matter to me anymore, but Ill always be lurking here on the forums.

Default I don't know about NH, but in NC they had crazy deals on the diesel 2500+ chassis trucks

They were advertising 16k off of sticker on Powerstroke F250's, probably similar on Chevy Duramax's.

The diesel w/ a programmer under regular driving conditions probably gets better mileage anyways and you can run them on waste oil, biodiesel, or some type of blend.

Although, with the trade-in value of the S4, I don't know how much money you would be saving. The payments are probably pretty similar, just at a lower interest rate.

It might not be worth it to trade unless you are set on moving to a truck.

Default At first glance, unless you need the functionality of the truck or are getting a great deal on a...

...stripper model, it seems like a false economy.

Default duramax is a pita to run on veggi and i wouldn't, but Would say bigggg + to duramax...

Seeing as I can get 22mpg at 75-80mph on my daily tune which runs like 13.8 1/4mile, not bad for a 7200lb crewcab. Diesel tuning is so easy that practically anyone can write their own tunes. Get EFI live for $700 and its an open source to the ECU. Yes thats right open source, write as many different tunes as you want for your truck.

I picked up my LT3 '07 for $36k...

They actualy get the same mileage, and the truck takes crappy gas compared to supreme.
