Also learned that is is easier to use the Motive Power Bleeder without fluid in it and just for pressure. As the resivoir gets lower just top it off and repressurize the power bleeder. I ended up wasting ~1/2 liter of Motul RBF600. :-(

If you are vigilant you can use the power bleeder that way every time. Works well and it is clean!

Default i have used MityVac and power bleeders, but to be honest..

i've found nothing works as well as pumping the brakes. granted you do need a 2nd person.

vacuum (mity vac) is pretty useless. power bleeder is just a bit faster than gravity and i had the thing up at 20psi. i suppose if you fill the container with fluid and leave all 4 bleeders open, it may be somewhat convenient.

i resorted to using the empty reservoir,as you mentioned, just to pressurize the system. however after mushy brakes i did it the old fashioned way and found there was still some air inside.

by the way, with the audi i've found that everytime i flush the brake system, the brake pedal feels softer for a while (a few days) and then it becomes firm. did you experience this?

Default my brakes feel liks $h*t. I still have some air in the calipers and have bled it several times

I had very good luck with the power bleeder on my wifes vw w/ oem calipers. granted it was just a flush not starting with empty calipers. For some reason i just can't get the pedal to firm up. Plus there is alot of travel. i will have to try again later, but i am out of brake fluid now. I need to locate some more motul now.

are you speculating about the air based on pedal softness or are there still bubbles coming out?
