Default Is this covered under comprehensive coverage for cars?

We've been having snow for the last few days here in Maine, and my cousin , by accident, left the driver's side front and driver's back window in his 03 Saab 9-3 open. It snowed about 6 inches on Wednesday, and basically there's snow in his car. Basically the carpet it soaked, his audio system doesn't work, and the water on the seats has been cleaned. (It's snowing again now, but the windows are closed

I looked under the driver's seat at the audio amplifier, and it's already rusting! because the carpet is wet. I think it is short circuiting. That part itself is over a thousand to replace, then there's labor for that. (Saab's aren't cheap to maintain. cheap to buy though)
If he was to pay his deductible ($250) for comprehensive coverage, and report it to the insurance company, would he be covered?
Would his premiums go up?

Default Did that really go right over your head?

In that case, why not just call the insurance company and find out?

Default Have you looked at the policy?

I'm thinking you've suffered a loss under comprehensive (if you opted for that)...not sure it matters exactly how. As long as you didn't deliberately do it...I would think it would be covered.

I broke my windshield last year. I called the insurance company, told them how I broke it and they asked one question..."did you do it on purpose?" I told them no and they said no problem it's covered.

Of course, they may raise your rates or drop you next time you're up for renewal...
