Default Picture from my weekend enduro

This is cylinder #1. Probably a cracked ring that led to a complete erosion of the underlying part of the piston. 1.6L miata motor from Rebello racing with <10 hours.

The motor lasted for about 10 minutes before my Sunday race (3 hr enduro at NHMS) ended in the same way Kimi's did: a big cloud of smoke.

The motor seemed soft in qualifying, where I was inexplicably about a second off pace of the guys I usually run with. I got a great start to (11th -> 5th) which put me where I thought I belonged, but I was unable to hang with anyone on the straights and started moving backwards fast. Then in the space of one lap it got completely anemic and BAM. Got to watch the race with the EMT guys 'cuz I parked it in a place where I couldn't get back to the paddock.

Default Bummer Doug 8^(

I would have been crewing for you (was propositioned by Dave when I was up there on Saturday) if I hadn't headed to WG on Sunday. Was that your car or one of DWW's?

Default the shop said "we could make it into an F Production motor for you"

lol, I don't meet the unofficial rules of that class which say "drivers must be old men"

Default hope the Glen was fun!

crewing for me would have been a really easy gig - no pit stops! I think his regular guys were all at the Nelson Ledges 24hr

It was my competition car - the rental cars don't have Rebello motors. That motor was one of Steve Gorriaran's spares.
