Hakkinen calls it a day. Can't say he had very good luck with DTM.

Audi needs to grab him up for their sportscar team. He'd make a fine addition.

Default I'm thinking he quit because he realizes he has lost a bit ot the edge. I'd love to see him

race in the Audi's too, but I'm not sure that would be any better. JJ Lehto would be my first choice to come back. Did he **** someone off? He's actually a talkative Finn, a rarity. Whadya think, Rakete?

Default I don't klnow about 'a bit of the edge'. DTM is really a young man's game, and by that I mean...

...you really need to be fast and smooth, but at the same time you have to be willing to stick a fender in there to gain a spot when needed. If you do that in F1, you get whammied. Guys like HHF are doing 'OK' because they came from sportscars and have at one time done that sort of thing. Alesi was in it because he still had that fire for racing. I think he thought he still had something to prove. Mikka, being twice WDC doesn't need to prove anything to anybody. And you're right, seeing Lehto back in an Audi would indeed be nice. He's a good guy and a very under rated driver IMO.

Default JJ is a great guy and a hard charger, but he doesn't get along with Audi Sport due to a blow up

at Road America in 2006.

JJ does DTM commentary for Finish TV (has for three years) and he is trying to get back in a Champion R10, once they get a third car under Champion livery.

JJ is very close to Dave Mirage, so he stands a chance, but not in a factory car (bar major shuffle or retirements).

Default Missed that story about the blowup. was it with Audi? Worse than Salo's NASCAR antics in GT this yr?

He never got penalized for that, still bothers me. Speaking of retirements, I wouldn't be surprised for Pirro to call it a day with his injuries.

Default I was in the tent when he had that wreck at the start....I just thought since he

wasn't a factory driver that might be more the problem. Gosh, all the drivers have had an accident or two so you wouldn't think Audi Sport would be that pissed at him. I do think that Pirro will retire sooner than later. His wife kind of wanted him to retire last year. Sure hope he is ok after his accident during practice at the Petit.

Default I would love to see him back....and he is very friendly with the fans. Besides

being a good driver. But then Audi has always been lucky and seem to get the cream of the crop when it comes to drivers. Of course Johnny Herbert is probably looking for a ride too??
