I'm from Maryland. Got ticket 82 in 65 on Ohio turnpike this past weekend.
in your state is there any option to defend via mail or any other strategy that I can employ other than driving all the way out there again for court?
The offense occurred in city of Hudson, county of Summit, and in the Cuyahoga Falls court district. My court date is 7/23/07. That's FAST. I can usually drag out an appearance for a year in Maryland.
By the way - this was a classic example of the Valentine One being a ticket notification device only due to the trooper using laser.
And for some views and as repayment for any advice I present some allroad quattro eye candy:

Can't defend via mail. You need to show up in person.
The courhouse in Cuyahoga Falls loves to have people appear in person and will not accept you trying to defend yourself using other means. The only thing you can do without showing up is to simply pay the fine (I think you can now pay online) if the ticket isn't marked to require you to appear.

I almost got caught on sunday coming back from chicago on the turnpike
Didnt see the cop and I was doing about 85. V1 doesnt go off but my heart is racing. I knew I was definately in range of him. Drove pass him and I he was asleep in the drivers seat. The cops on the turnpike are known for pulling over out of state cars.

Fiance got pulled over in the same area for 72. The cop says "miss you were going 72" and
she waits for more... nothing... and responds "yeah, so?"
He actually gave her a warning for it. What a *****.
