My wife was stopped in KC the other day for KPD consultation
They metered her window tint...I had never heard of such a thing! She passed as it's 35% all the way around. I guess it's a new excuse for revenue. Someone wrote a business case that justified purchasing the silly test gear.
I guess there goes my thought of 20% on the front windows.

Crap!
I hate that!
On the topic of the front license plate though, I can give you some advice. When I came out to Colorado in May, I immediately received two tickets for not sporting one of those fashionable license plates on the front of my car. I was parked outside of my house in the cul-de-sac of a residential development. I couldn't believe it.
But I didn't feel like putting on the plate. So, I went to Home Depot (with the advice of the Rocky Mtn Club B5) and picked up some industrial strength velcro for $2.83. I cut it into strips, and affixed one side to the front bumper, the other to the back of the plates. Voila! Instant license plate for when you're parked. And I've forgotten it many times: it does not fly off on the highway, even at excessive speeds (tried to and proven!).

I got the same letter last month
Those meters cost a few buck so I would imagine they will put them to use. The only problem with them is getting jarred around in a car will throw off the callibration. You are suppose to check them with a supplied piece of glass before you use them to make sure thay are accurate. I would be willing to bet in about 6 months from now those meters will be all out of whack.

When the laws changed in MO for the front windows they did away with the doctors excuses.
The only people that can get a break are people with eye or skin conditions wanting to tint the windshield. There is no way to get away with it now.
