We're going to be demodding/taking parts off Eduardo's A4 this weekend (Silver A4's please read...)
Ed wanted me to post to let folks know that we're going to strip most of the mods of his totalled A4 this weekend... I want to open up this oppurtunity to folks, especially those with similar models (99.5-01.5 A4/S4's) in case they need parts for their own cars.
The way it's working out with insurance is complicated, but long story short all the big mods are coming off. If you have something on your car that is not working, broken, scratched, etc. and would like to swap that part for a like new/working part, please let me know. For instance, if your sunroof switch is acting up, you can give Ed some cash and swap yours with his. I'm including a general list of things I plan to take off. The main thing is that the car needs to look whole at the end of the weekend.
I would like to find a old set of A4 door trim if possible... if you have a set or are interested in putting the full S4 door trim, sideskirts, and rear valance on your car, we can also arrange that. All these parts came out unscratched. Key is that this stuff needs to be done ASAP... Please don't tell us that you want something obvious in the car that needs to have something to put into it's place but can't meet up at some point this weekend.
Thanks,
R.

Yup, usually ins. wants a whole car...
You can go back to stock (swap wheels, susp, etc.), but can't take off trim, switches, etc. and not replace them.
They aren't insuring the modded vehicle, unless you have a rider for such, and they aren;'t going to pay for them when it's totaled...so might as well de-mod.
