Default Maybe if he reseals the motor it'd be better

Older air cooled cars that switch to synth tend to weak oil at the seals if changed over w/o new seals.

I've had success with Castol GTX high mileage in my car.

Default Running Castrol GTX right now, but switching to BradPenn next week.

The magic fairy dust ZDDP thing sounds kinda neat-o. ;o)

Default BradPenn is more used by dragsters

redline is loaded with good ZDDP additive package..

and new synthetic oils are compatible with all seals..in the early days there were some issues, but those are long gone

Default old myth

Myth: Mobil 1 will leak out of the seals of older cars.

Reality:
Mobil 1 does not cause leaks. In fact, new Mobil 1 was tested in dozens of industry standard and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) tests to prove its seal performance. It is fully compatible with the elastomeric materials from which all automotive seals and gaskets are made. If an older engine is in good condition and does not have oil leaks, Mobil 1 provides the same advantages as when used in a new engine.

I'm sure my engine leaks. I'm just too lazy to clean off the 30 year-old seepage that seems to be plugging up said leaks. P
