My parent's just called and told me that they had their bid on a house there accepted tonight... They've lived in the Hampton Roads area for the last 23 years, and wanted a nice place to retire in. Bike paths, rolling hills reminiscent of Germany, some culture, and an honorary position at UVA for my dad for when he feels like giving a nuclear physics lecture were all motivators. They'll be getting the house totally remodeled first, so no moving til December, but it'll be a nice halfway point for trips to VIR.
They were also looking at places in NorCal, but the bang for the buck in VA was impressive.
Anyway, just wanted to throw it out there... so much change going on right now, here's another to add to the list.

Im in charolettesville all the time with the little woman going to UVA
Definitely a nice place to live. A lot of great live music (Dave Mathews band came from Charlottesville) and a lot of preppy douche bags to make fun of that pop their collars.

That was my dad's life work... he came up with the ideas that lead to the building of that
particular particle detector... if you know a little about nuclear particle physics, then this link will explain more. Hall B is/was his baby from Day 1 back in '85.
