Default Brown, US 66 between Lee Hwy and Fairfax exit

which was convenient becuase its not a far drive to the County lock-up, those cuffs are a PITA.

Default I had this happen to me, but my charges were dropped, still had to pay huge impound fee though

I had a restricted license about 5 years ago that allowed me to drive to and from school, when I had to get that piece of paper reprinted cause i lost the last one, they did not print it correctly and left out one little check box that cost me $1,400 on my old Acura Legend 1989. The damn car wasnt even worth $500 bucks. Anyways long story short, charges were dropped, but i still had to pay the impound because the impound lot was a privately owned company. That really sucked.

Default Not reading all the replies, but basically, you made a bad choice

and don't like suffering the consequence. Such is life. Does it suck? Sure. But is it anybody's fault except yours? Nope.

Default WOW, people can really lay it on thick sometimes, never looked for any sympathy, more...

just shared my experience and its true I dont like to pay $2K to get my car back, but that is life as you say. I'm sure people here have done far worse on the streets, such as serious wreckless driving putting others, including children, at risk. But once someone puts there **** on the chopping block, everyone gets a chance to take a wack.

Default LOL, you're not a victim here. Not like I don't hold myself to the same standards

You said you wanted a "that sucks, dude." That indicates that you want sympathy and want to play the victim card for a situation that was ENTIRELY you're fault.

You did a stupid thing, plain and simple. You try to skirt responsibility for the wrongful act by claiming prices of impound are exorbitant or that VA State Troopers are too strict.

If it were me, I'd lament my own stupidity and not the presumed gouging and idiocy of everybody else. But that's just me.

For what it's worth, I got two reckless driving tickets a month apart about four years ago. All said and done, it cost me $3,300 to fight them. I was ticked at myself. Sure, VA's harsh punishments are just that, harsh. But guess what, that doesn't change the fact that what I did was wrong and that it cost me $3,300 to make the wrong right again.
