Default Looking for interest in people wanting upgrade their cushions...

My Status seats came stock with surprisingly cheap foam padding. They have an option to get memory foam inserts, but for $150 per seat. That seems a bit much. So I did some running around and found a local foam distributor that not only carries memory foam in bulk but also nice closed cell foam that has a higher density. I'm planning on switching out all the seating surfaces for this foam, which will be a fraction of what Status charges, and wanted to see if anyone local with aftermarket seats was interested in going in on a big 5x7" sheet of the stuff to make it even cheaper. Having sat in some Cobra seats with the memory foam option, I can tell you that they feel much better for long sessions/trips.

Default Wasn't either... just getting into homemaker mode this week... Re-upholstering my 2

office chairs in alcantara and was thinking of getting new foam, then it made me think of the car seats... and so it begins.

Default Is it the same as what's in mattress pads? Might it be cheaper to go

that route? I think we spent $150 or so on a 3" king memory foam mattress pad/topper for our bed. You should be able to get a twin for half that.

Default Yep, already decided to do that instead... buy a King size 1" Memory Foam topper on Overstock...

Cut it down to queen size and put on the bed, then use the excess and cut it to fit inside the alcantara cushions... Total cost ~$60 and I get a free bed cover out of it... Way better idea.

Default Hey Will, looks like buying memory foam bed toppers online are much cheaper...

Good thing is you can really pick your thickness easily... 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2", 3", 4", 6", etc.

In my case the Status seats have removable cushions with velcro, so it's as easy as slipping in the new pads.
