A little snow day project.
The allroad didn't move an inch today.
I got a late start on it last night, but all went well. No fluids lost.
I've been wanting to remove the rocker panels on the 911, and decided to do it last night. Although it yielded a little weight savings, I mainly did it to address my oil cooling issues that I was experiencing since last summer. Removing the rocker panels allows some air flow to the oil lines, which run along the passenger side of the body. I'm also planning on replacing the "trombone" type oil cooler with a "radiator" type, which sits behind the passenger front headlight, tucked up behind the fender.
In addition to replacing the cooler, I'm considering replacing the oil lines as well. In the last picture, you can barely see that one of the lines is "pinched", thus restricting normal flow. Not a definite decision yet, but if the price is right, I'll go ahead and replace them as well.

exposed oil line? o.0 Careful driving over speed bumps!
I know my buddy Mark down in Yorktown has the oem oil line out of his '72 911 track car. Are they inter-changable between the years? He replaced everything with custom made SS braided lines & AN connectors. I think his old lines are in decent shape, but I'm not sure what his plans for them are. Could connect you guys up on email if you wish, and get Justin to do the delivery! ;P

Hope it cools you down a litte.
Your car is so beautiful. The rocker panel removal makes it look a little less beautiful, and more like a race/track car.
