Default Heads up: TireRack Bridgestone RE-01Rs may have been old stock.

A guy on another forum got a call from TireRack indicating that the tires were 2006 inventory (not 2008 as expected). Not a huge deal, but I believe they're offering a discount.

Default BTW, I am very happy with this tire. I almost feel like I'm driving around on R Comps

They replaced Toyo T1-Rs before. When I used to toss the car in to some turns, the T1-Rs would howl. I am tossing the car in to the same turns at the same speeds now and the tires are completely silent. They offer excellent grip, are stiff, have great steering response, and are fairly quiet. I haven't really tested them under heavy braking, but I can already tell that they stick well under braking. I also haven't put them anywhere near their limit but for what I have done with them, I'm happy with the purchase.

Default That's good news. Apparently some old stock must have snuck in there.

I'm imagining a warehouse like the final scene in Indiana Jones.

Default I saw "2005 production" on some of them.

I think they'll be ok for DE use as long as they were stored properly and brand-new. Has the rubber compound changed for this model in the past 3 years?<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&amp;url=%2Ftires%2FSizes.jsp%3Fmake%3D Bridgestone%26amp%3Bmodel%3DPotenza%2BRE-01R">tire rack page</a></li></ul>
