how hard would it be to get 7-8 tickets day of for a game against the Angels next week?

should not be a problem. i think you could even go to the window day of...
...If you did not care where you sat. Can also try scalp free zone(around the north side of the building heading waay from the wharehouse) - often very good seats available, but 6-8 together might be tough from there. Either way, you should be fine.
