I'm willing to guess it'll be a hell of a lot more reliable than a 2.7t

Default SC's are usually pretty bullet-proof...and there isn't tons of piping to leak...

oh yea, and no KO3s. :P

Default and much fewer "Warranty Replacements"

which I'm sure is one of the biggest driving factors in the switch. This is one of the main things that killed the 3rd gen RX7. Mazda was getting killed on all the turbo replacements.

Default Nothing compared to the 2.7T. My C32 has a simpler supercharger setup, but...

... it's also integrated with the intake manifold. It's basically a mechanical fan pumping atmosphere, whereas turbos are spinning in the exhaust system (somewhere down there!) and require a lot more cooling and lubing to keep from dying. With the s/c on the intake manifold, an air-to-water intercooler can be mounted between the two, rather than routed around as in the 2.7T. Superchargers also lack the complex boost management that turbos need (although I'm not sure why.)

The downside with superchargers is parasitic drain on horsepower.

Default Yep, I'd love to get an S4 Avant but will only be able to afford an A4 Avant,so I'll get one of them

BTW I think the supercharged V6 is a great idea. 24mpg and 333hp, sounds like a winner to me!

turbo warranty "issues" also helped kill the Supra, Eclipse GSX, and 300ZX as well...

Default Yup, underdrive pulleys will help, but the big hp guys will go elsewhere (BMW 335, etc)

Both superchargers and turbos have their plusses and minuses. The only thing I have against superchargers is that once you put an underdrive pully on the supercharger, you are basically done for mods. So what is that, about 380hp? Nice, but I can get some turbos and fueling on my A6 and have 450hp. I think my A6 is lighter, too. Plus insurance is $600/year full coverage for me and I get about 26mpg on the freeway. To each their own, but I'll stick with my A6. You'll have to pry the steering wheel out of my cold, dead hands...
