Default <smacks head on desk> Oy!

Sorry... use to it being said over and over in the B8 forums. There were only some 400 B7 S4 Avants sold in States the last year. Audi has decided that its a wise business decision not to bring over a car people don't want.

The people that scream for them to bring it to the U.S. are NOT the people with the money and actually buy one.

Default I'm not too enthusiastic. Only slight hp gain over my chipped A6, tho the DSG would be cool

I'm just wondering when someone makes a turbo conversion for that motor to remove the supercharger. I may pay more attention then.

Also, what's going to go into the new RS4? Supercharged V8?

In the meantime, I've re-fallen in love with the UrS6's 20V turbo so I think a turbo wagon will be in my future. Seen some pretty sweet ones recently for $5-6k.

Just my thoughts...

Default If a good-condition Ur can be had for 5-6k, buy it!!

Even with DSG...it's still a slushbox, just not a '84 Caddy slushbox. And yea, my chipped A6 (same as yours?) is close enough to those stock power numbers...I wonder how detuned the 3.0 TFSI engine is, and what potential tuning power exists. (I have always loved superchargers)

I've wanted for years to 20vt my CQ...maybe, someday. :/ Best engine Audi has made to date!

Default Superchargers are tunable too. Basically, a smaller, underdrive pulley to boost boost.

Depending on the pulley setup, and the supercharger, a pulley wheel change can add 50 HP pretty easily.

I'm sure the tuners are all over it.

Default hmmmm I wonder how reliable this set up will be given the complexity

The compressor is so compact that it easily fits inside the 90-degree V of the cylinder banks, in place of the intake manifold. Two four-vane rotary pistons counter-rotate inside the turbocharger at up to 23,000 rpm. Two charge-air coolers are integrated into the housing and are connected to a separate coolant circuit. An impressive array of measures keeps the noise generated by the compressor to a minimum.

Lots of potential for problems but on the other side you don't have to pull the engine to replace the supercharger.
