    Hey there - just now seeing this, sorry for the delay. I'm pretty happy with it, been using the unit for several months now. I don't think you'll need any trim removal tools - I used a butter knife to coax out the AC/heat controls, pretty simple. The rest is just standard screwdrivers. The unit I used has poor audio quality through the aux-input, so I just use the unit with bluetooth and have been much happier. Way less switching of audio sources too. You would not need the VCDS/ODBII cable if you just stay with bluetooth, the only reason for the VCDS/ODBII cable is to enable the audio aux input - using bluetooth negates this need.
