Stla6, the line that runs up over the engine becomes brittle and snaps like a chip. I just ran my hand down the tube and you'll be able to tell where the tubes starts being bendable/good. Just cut it and attached new tubing. I used hose clamps likeAutoCraft Emergency Hose Clamp Kit, Assortment (6-Pack) AC5204V: Advance Auto Parts

Be Careful not to overtighten the clamp (I did) or the error will return.

Nothfork, I have the exact same problem you had with the broken vac tubing. I just read your thread about the broken vacuum line. Excellent fix btw. as I was reading the thread audi bug suggested you use less expensive tubing. afterwards you thanked him for his help.
