    2000 Audi A6 Quattro V8 4.2

The other day I noticed my brake light alert came on but didn't notice any symptoms. A few days later, brake light alert came back on - finally, one day leaving my residence, I noticed that when pressing on the gas, it was a little hard moving forward; then, all of a sudden I heard a loud metal grinding sound. I was able to reverse the car back to my residence, but the noise only continued if I went forward. Eventually, I noticed two lines hanging from the bottom of the front driver side. One line leads to around the hydraulic fluid area where you refill, and the other was located where a few wire components are attached. I've attached images, just not sure exactly what these lines are, and if that is the issue causing the metal grinding sound. One of the lines I was able to disconnect, just don't know where it connects to. The other is still attached and is being protected with a big rigid line. I have images, just don't know how to attach them.
