I believe the re-flash is for older cars than yours. There were a couple of years around 2000 I think that were later determined the original parameters were too tight and caused the CEL prematurely. The flash loosened the limits. I have a 2001 2.7 A6 and did the spacers on my post cat oxygen sensors a year or so ago. It solved my CEL warnings about the cats. I was told by many on here that it would result in worse issues and my cats would be trashed as a result. If you read this forum for a while you will see where many believe the cats need to be changed every few years. They may be correct, but I think this is silly. Admittedly I am not a tech and I may be wrong. I have never had any issues with my cars passing our environmental emissions testing.
