Sorry,
I didn't know you posted a reply.
Long story...I bought an ecu from LKQ and it ended up being a ecu from a passat. I was able to do some programming with Ross Tech. Was able to get the car to run for 1 second. I then had the car towed to the dealer. They said it was the wrong ecu. They were unable to get the immobilizer programmed.
The guy at the dealer then told me I needed an ecu with numbers not matching the broken ecu I had. I told him I'd find one close to the one I already had in my car (and not pay $1700.00). I have a 4B0 906 018 M (with the apr chip).
I found an ecu with the same numbers but two letters on the end. (forgot off hand).
I just got the car back today. They said that the car will not if programmed for a "MANUAL" trans. They then programmed it for an AUTOMATIC trans. The car runs. They great thing now is that the CEL is on. Great fix ass wipes! Now the car can not be smogged!
I was wondering if a APR chip bypasses all that audi crap?
