    Hey MCS,
I'm Rob Mann from Perth. Been here in the US in Gainesville Florida, a small university town [University of Florida] for over 20 years. Purchased my first 2004 D3 with 33,000 miles on it in 2009. It got swiped across the front by a student texting through a red light earlier this year and the insurance eventually wrote it off after several months due to the escalating expensive list of parts needed when they couldn't get some parts second hand. Had 130,000 miles on it and recently replaced it with a 2009 D3 with 65,000 on. I'm going through and doing all the major service work myself.
Let me know if I can every help get you anything you can't order from Oz., if you don't have someone here already.
There is only one D3 in the local 'pull your own part' yard, but it's already been had at by me and A6'ers.
    Regards,
    Rob.
PS I added my contact details but then realized it's a public message section. PM if you need anything.

About the bluetooth; I'm still in doubt if I should pay the few hundred bucks, I've read different stories on it's functionality and not sure if I'll be using it that much.
That being said, I'm waiting to try the dealer one more time to check out the coding and SVM, and otherwise either the BT module is bad I think, or need to change my control head module. I have one of the earliest D3's so might be to old I suspect.

If there's anything else I can help you with let me know.

No real tips and tricks on this, I had my private Audi mechanic (friend working at Audi) help me out so that might have helped.
The replacing of the central elect. module is fairly easy, did it myself. You have a RHD car so don't know if it's on the same side as on mine, but I had to remove the dashboard part under the steering wheel to reach it, then simply unplug the connectors and i believe lift it up a bit and it should come loose. Then code it and you should be good to go.

I had an issue with my dimming mirrors but this is (hopefully) solved by replacing the battery, so unrelated. Also having my windshield replaced this week so that solves my lightsensor-being-blocked-issue.

    Hey man,

I've only just now discovered the little message above saying I've got a pm, still have to get use to the forum i guess
No problem, same for you and thank you too for helping out.

I changed mine to the latest to be sure, and don't know which minimum revision you need for the coding to work. So can't help you on that unfortunanely.
And yes, I ran an wire straight to the central elct. module, (I believe pin c31) to the sensor. I Connected only the + and - from the roof connector, so no data connection going to the roof. I read that you wanted to try and run it straight to the roof and code it there, really curious on if that would work or not just because I was playing with that thought too before buying a new module
