Thank you for being a contributor on audiworld. I'm new there and I really respect and have thankfulness about your posts.
So i've ordered a new-audi drivers door actuator to replace on the soft close next week. Using the Bentleys I pulled apart the door assembly and unbolted the door lock mechanism. I had the window 10cm down to remove the door inner, I couldn't unclip outside door latch at the top. I found at that time there is a micro switch that thinks the door is closed all the time and won't engage the motor to soft close. so here are my questions: 1) for $45 I can order a chinese 4E1837015C Door Lock Actuator from hans auto parts -- is that is a waste of money - do you agree ? 2) can I just pop off the tall yellow-clear twist mechanism on the top of the lock actuator and pop the outside door linkage rod to free up the latch and remove it? Any other tricks or items to watch breaking ?
