20V water manifold alternative options?
Basically I do not feel like spending $330 plus shipping to have my head machined for a water manifold which I have to spend another $170 on.
What if I used the bridgeport I have acces to and drilled my own ports (about 5/8" diam.) into the water jackets in the same places, had my buddy Tig weld 3/4 inch long aluminum "nipples" into the head and used rubber heater hose going to the existing water neck, or even make my own manifold of sorts that the tubes went to, one large one going to the existing neck and 3 smaller ones for the other ports?
This will cost me less than $100 and will liely cool atleast 60% as well as the above mentioned $500+ fiasco mentioned above, and im sure anything is better than the stock single port.
Anyone have any input?

I had a local machine shop do mine and it turned out perfect.
I'm not giving away prices because this can vary greatly, but it was not $500 including the manifold. You get what you pay for on this, I did exactly what you are talking about on my 10vt and I hated having hoses all over the place. With the 3B coolant manifold you also get a provision for the turbo coolant so that's one less nipple to add on. I'd leave it stock before I tried what you're describing as you might actually do more damage than good to the system.

Hmm, If I can find a used water manifold for fairly cheap I will likelly go that route....
My dads buddy is a machinist, and I have access to a bridgeport, So I can probably do it myself or have it done inexpensively.
Anyone have a manifold for sale? :-)

i getting ready to buy a 7a and i was wondering about the water manifold. so the ports are there but they're just not drilled for the manifold yet. i second that about paying $330 to have it done. that's crazy
