IIRC the stock turbo is the first mechanical limitation to building more power. I think most will agree that 17-18psi and 300bhp is about the limit for a mechanically stock MC. I know CIS can be tweaked (a lot!) to push the K26 turbo to that limit.
Stock MC cylinder head probably won't flow more than 23psi/350bhp...oversize valves, good port and polish, decent cam and I'm sure 400+bhp is possible. Discussion on motorgeek.com suggests that the MC bottom end is the most durable of the Audi I5's.
Visit 80tq.com and toxcheap.com to see some info on highly tuned 10v and 20v I5 engines.

Default that is respectable power for an engine that old ! sweet .

the MC engine has a fuel rail and EFinjectors and with a good ecu i should be able to make the most out of the hardware
thanks !

Default we should be proud to say our engines are of a racing breed =)

I believe what contributes most to the durability of these engine is that Audi built them to compete before bringing them to the street. Audi Group B rallye cars had 20vT engines well before they were common on factory cars. Not many cars out there have such history!
Best of luck with your project. =)
