Got this 01 4.2 Running with check engine light for cheap because of the miles but mostly were highway miles...engine had some noises the check engine was from bank 2 A cam intake cam over retarded seller had just had timing belt done with blauparts kit 8,000 miles earlier- The shop had not done the job right and had not freed the cam gears also the new relay roller for Tbelt was failing(Had an odd rattle at idle and could move it slightly up and down with your fingers) Was surprised I made the hour long drive over the Altamont with it ready to grenade like this. So started to do my Gates Racing Tbelt job and the Hydraulic Tensioner was frozen extremely tight thought I was going to break something when trying to take the Tbelt off. Anyways decided to hit almost all the bases out the gate, I ordered the entire head gasket set, Gates Racing Tbelt Kit, and new timing chain tensioner pads. Figured I wanted to decat my downpipes and once the exhaust is off and Tbelt I might as well pull the heads and do a Top End clean up and refresh everything as well as remove 240,000 miles worth of carbon(which was not as bad as many at 100,000). Still currently has the heads off expected to be finished and smogged by DEC 1st, and ready for Snowboarding season IN TAHOE!!!!
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
Rebuilding engine as we speak, thinking about separating the MLS head gasket and running single layer copper sprayed Compression raising head gasket.Decatted Downpipes, Polished Upper Intake Manifold. Trying to find a higher compression 84.5mm piston that will clear the valves :\ b7 s4 MAF housing same size but single screen and no plastic flow straightener, Low Temp Thermostat, Resonator removed, Fixed Manifold arms,pivots, and linkages.

Eibach pro kit springs on bilsteins
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Some ugly petrol wheels 18x8.5? 245-35-18
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Weathertech vent visor window shades, Carbon Fiber gauge cluster and chrome rings, Led interior lights, brushed aluminum mirrors
Future Modifications:
Raise compression in the engine to at least 11.2 similar to s4 s6 v8, 6speed conversion if I find a good donor. Read more ยป
