Default ...but has policies only in Florida...

I thought I remembered reading that was pretty much standard in the industry. The "nationally known" insurance companies actually incorporate separately in each state and write policies for that state from the state entity. This has the effect of containing or limiting their liability. I could be wrong...perhaps some have regional coverage.

Anyone know more about that?

Default I'm currently with ASI, I got dropped by Allstate in 2007 along with 225K other Floridians

this spring I will shop for somebody else. I don't have any problem with them but they cost me more than Allstate. I have a neighbor who has a similar house and he's still with Allstate and pays 20% less than me with ASI.

Default that's what every Floridian should do if they cancel Homeowners.

If State Farm cancels Homeowners policies, and not car insurance. Every Floridian should also cancel their car insurance with them and move to a different company.
