Any homeowners use the new Black & Decker Freewire (similar to X10) system?
I was thinking about giving this a try, could be cool, or could be a complete waste of money.

I thought you cant have cat5 in the same box as high voltage?
At least that was the rule in FL 4 years ago... No low voltage (orange box) stuff could go in any high voltage switch/outlet/etc.
I always wondered why cable jacks are 6" or so from the outlet...then an electrician told me...

Where exactly in Florida? You might want to check the regs on that.
There are only two places I know have stricter regs than NEC for LV wiring, that's Chicago and Las Vegas.
If that's the case all your security alarm wiring has to be in conduit as well.
