Why disable the search function so far in advance of the vB transition?
I'm assuming the one is related to the other.
I don't know when the transition is supposed to happen, but why not make search functional until then.

Contigency plan last time was to go back to Kawf

Is the back up to the back up plan @ least Kawf? Or just vB until AW is back online attitude? Guessing the later if it's a mid work day switch so techs are arround...
