Thanks for closing AWP. It had become 90% free of substance.

The content of the forum had nothing to do with the closing. The lesson to be learned is that the
admins have limited time to spend dealing with complaints and the complaint level was too high in AWP. Any board here on AW (or any other forum, I imagine) can be shut down for exactly the same thing. Remember that as the pseudo-political posts creep into AWOT.....

Meh. You can choose how to respond to complaints.
I know that on other political boards they just ban misbehaving users and ignore complaints about the practice. I guess Kris was right when he inferred that AudiWorld is not prepared to handle the inevitable diatribes that political debate on anonymous internet forums encourage.
I think they could have and should have dealt with "line walkers" swiftly, harshly, and publically. Since the bad behavior was never dealt with in a manner commensurate with the technical capabilities of AWP 2.0 we'll never know. But what's done is done.

I find it amusing that AWP's shutdown was precipitated by two morons...
one was flat out insane, and the other was a troll. Before those two, on it's worst day, AWP was still tolerable to Jason and Kris.
