The FAQ appears to be way out of date:

and the only thing I can see to do is to get the image properties of the image from the album, which yields an ugly URL like //cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.audiworld.com-vbulletin/580x435/80-picture_php_pictureid_19046_2562b654761fb1f08ba92d 0eba7ac94f0d386df7.jpg

Am I missing something obvious? It looks like the old picture poster links no longer work, so when I look back at my old postings they are red-X images?

Hi Richard, it looks like till the "rest" of the gallery is added, you'll want to use that ridiculously long path. I'm waiting to see if that might change though, so I'd hold off on any epic picture threads with hundreds of images till everything is ironed out... Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks Kris - so does this mean the old images are forever to be unlinked? I agree the new path leaves a lot to be desired. In all fairness the IB team has done an amazing job of maintaining enough backwards compatibility to keep an awful lot of the old material accessible! It sure would be nice to have that with the picture poster / gallery.... [/WishfulThinking]

I am working hard to try to come up with a way to make the old PP stuff show up correctly.. I only recently realized that they never got fixed in the first place... *sigh*

Oh, and there's a new way to upload and embed images now, I'll get instructions up shortly.

Sorry, if they keep the goofy URL you'll be mad? I would agree, but I'm hesitant to post pictures knowing they'll break soon (assuming URL is going to change), so it would be really good to have a solid URL scheme soon....
