just out of curiousity, why do you even need the # replies column or # of views?
in the kawf version, you don't get additional visual distraction w/ the number of views because of the positioning. In this case, there is a column devoted to that.
Is this layout user configurable ala iTunes column customization?
Ditch the breadcrumb lines. Very PC and totally unnecessary and keeps on adding more elements.
I think people can see one is indented under the other.

If you're not that interested in the subject why worry about how active it is? :-)
Joyteen is right, that column is useless, or at the very least that column conveys very little information in exchange for the screen real estate it occupies.

an active topic is easily managed by tracking a thread. that's what tracking is.
more information isn't necessarily a good solution to a non-existent or even an existing problem.
