It still comes across as an irritant, and as long as that attitude continues (from either side), there will never be peace. It is still spam. Aren't we all Audi nuts? Isn't that what really matters?

I thought he was referring to the quality of the posts he was seeing as opposed to anything else.
But it's up to the mods on that forum to decide if it's kosher or not.
I didn't see any links back to here, or any AW logos in his sig (unlike what I was dealing with here)...

True. I think he just comes in, does a hit and run and leaves. The current set of mods seem to let anything go. The "Maxim rule" is pretty much a thing of the past. Can't say I agree with that. Even the mods post some pretty iffy stuff from time to time.

They have mods there? I'm not sure who goes here or anywhere else any more, it seems like lots of people are crossing back and forth a lot more... I do know I don't like any or the negative posting regardless. I never liked it when people picked on Vortex, or any other site back in the day.

Yeah, although for the most part you'd never know it, lol. I can't stand the bickering from site to site. I just want to see the day when nobody gets slammed for spelling out a competing site or linking good information just because it comes from brand x. We all share a common interest, that's what should carry the most weight.

For the record, I don't prevent cross linking to actual technical posts.
What I was vehemently opposed to was the blatant "this place sucks now, go to this other place" posts with links, as well as when people were putting links and logos of other sites in their sigs. THAT was spam. X linking to technical posts is not.
